Last week, my son had a friend’s birthday party (the one of the Stitch wrapping paper 💙) and it was going to be his first time at a trampoline park. I firmly believe in the power of being well-prepared - particularly for a child like my 4yo who gets easily overwhelmed in new and busy places. This was “new territory” for both of us so I wanted to make sure that he was mentally well equipped. And he knows the drill. ☺️ Whenever we go someplace new or do something different, this is what preparation looks like. Starting from about a week prior, without any pressure or fear; just loving age-appropriate explanations, we create a list of “rules” for him to remember. Body safety, food safety, people safety, and we do this in other scenarios too (like what to do if he ever gets lost or picked on at school and general safety reminders etc…) BONUS in this video: you’re getting to see another of my favourite “parenting tricks” in action - using one of his toys to “talk” instead of me when he’s rejecting me. Works like a charm every time. 😍 Do you have a similar approach with your little ones? I don't think I'll ever be able to describe the feeling of seeing your book in one of your favourite bookstores in the whole wide world @bookskinokuniyauae . I think I may have happy cried in public..while staring at my book 🙈 and I'm not a crier at all!! This book took us over 2.5 years to write , illustrate and publish ❤️ We are only 6 months post publishing and we are printing our 3rd edition!!!
