The view was exquisite. 🌅 Location📍: Botrivier, Western Cape Travel time ⏰: 1.5 hours from Cape Town Website: https://www.bartonvineyards.co.za Duration 🗓️: A weekend or longer Cost: Maximum 4 guests and from R2,000 for 2 guests per night 💰 My favourite spot was the balcony, absolutely stunning 😍. An hour and a half from Cape Town, the lodge offers a stillness rare in its kind, where the dam shimmers under the valley’s watchful eye, and quiet moments by the window reveal endless landscapes bathed in early light. The space invites a retreat inward and outward; a place where morning mist over the water blends with warm coffee in hand, where your mind finds peace in the chorus of distant birdcalls and whispering trees. The valley stretches before you, a quiet offering, inviting you to linger longer, settle deeper, and feel time slow down with each passing hour. Here rustic charm meets refined comfort. The cottage is thoughtfully designed, blending modern amenities with cozy, countryside aesthetics—think exposed wooden beams, a warm interior palette, and an open-plan living space that invites light in through expansive windows. Inside, the essentials are provided: a fully equipped kitchen for cooking up something special, plush seating for a cozy evening in, and two spacious rooms that feel like a restful embrace. The private balcony with a hot tub becomes the heart of the stay: settle into the warmth as you gaze over the dam and sprawling valley below, where birds trace the sky and the air feels untouched.   A highlight of our stay was the amazing indoor wood Pizza Oven to build your own pizza with the provided pizza bases. We spent the night cozied up in front of the large indoor fireplace, eating pizza, while admiring the evening skies and sounds. Besides spendig time in the hot tub, my time was spent in the soaking tub with views over the dam. Blissful, peaceful - tranquility. There are breathtaking views of that area that we traverse before reaching the incomparable @ElginRailwayMarket where you can spend a few hours exploring. 📆📲 So we know there are lots of you that want to book for the next ones.
