Botulax is a medication that is illegal to be used, or distributed in the Uk. It has not been through any safety testing with the MHRA. Black market Botox off the back of a man in a van with unlicensed unregulated practitioners doing it for £100 odd has become a rife and scary problem, and it’s a lot more common than you and I once thought.
The @telegraph recently published an article where undercover journalists found practitioners injecting this.
Sadly this is putting the public at risk. Botulax has been illegally imported and without any regulatory control or temperature control, and we don’t know if it’s been tampered with and what’s actually in it.
I’ve been in in the industry for over a decade and these side effects that now flood our inbox and the patients in desperation left with permanent scarring on the face from “Botox” made us initially wonder what on earth was going on.
What’s more worrying now it seems, is that as the public learn and realise these ridiculous deals are too good to be true, I have now been told that beauticians are using fraudulent vials that may look like the real deal from @galderma.aesthetics @merzaesthetics and @allerganaesthetics and tampering with them with the fake stuff.

Sadly it’s an unregulated market in the UK and ultimately it’s patient’s who are being lured in for cheap deals and being put at risk. It is illegal for a prescriber to prescribe a neurotoxin without seeing a patient, and the only regulated toxin treatments in the UK are the 3 shown in the video (not Botulax!!)
