COThis is Part 4 of my series “Rules Without Reading the CASV Rules.”
Pitching is the one that catches teams off guard.
There are no official pitch limits at CASV. That sounds simple, but it means the responsibility shifts to the coaches to manage it the right way.
And once a pitcher comes out, they can’t go back in. Even if they move to another position, their time on the mound is done for that game.
It changes how you have to think about pitching.
Games move quickly, innings can get long, and pitch counts climb faster than expected. Teams that rely on just a few arms usually feel it by the middle of the week.
The teams that come prepared have a plan. They spread innings out, protect arms, and adjust as they go.
Because at Cooperstown, there are no safety rails built into the rulebook. You have to create your own.
More to come in this series. ⚾️
