Arrhythmias are potentially lethal disturbances in the heart's electrical rhythm. Being able to recreate the conditions that cause arrhythmias will allow Mark and the cardiac bioengineering team to understand how they occur and how to stop them. Mark started with a genetically-inherited arrhythmic syndrome called Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (#CPVT). People with CPVT experience lethal arrhythmias in situations when their #adrenaline levels are high, like when they exercise. "We gave our heart organoids a mutation that causes CPVT, and found that they also went arrhythmic when we gave them adrenaline - just like what happens in CPVT patients," Mark says. "We first want to test if the current drugs that are prescribed to CPVT patients to stop their arrhythmias, also work for the heart organoids. Hannah had stage 4 cancer at twenty two and has now been cancer free for 3 years 🤍 Because of my condition we are doing PGT-M IVF. They collect the eggs they create embryos and then they test each one to see if it carries the faulty gene. Every night at 2AM this week Lupus is this invisible disease that reeks havoc on your whole life and everyone in it. I started a inhibitor to see if it can help manage my joint pain. I haven’t been on either medication long enough to see if they are helping yet. On top of my lupus symptoms I have the side effects that come with these medication. NOT fun 🤢 When you have the nutrition part down, no alcohol, minimize stress, exercise, you listen to every blog read all the books try all the creams and you feel like you’re only getting worse. When sun/heat is a trigger but it says to get more vitamin D Its this constant balancing act. If I do to much in one day I wake up with extreme fatigue, swollen joints, fever, & headaches that can last up to two days. Im hoping to be back in the salon two days a week even if thats only 1 colour a day. Praying I start to get some relief in the coming weeks. Having a hard time accepting this is not curable but believing Ill have better days ahead! We've been on the waiting list for nearly two years, and now we're finally in our first — We can have biological children… but we’re still doing IVF 🐣 We’ve been on the waiting list for nearly two years, and now we’re finally in our first egg retrieval cycle. Five days of evening Ovaleap injections are done, and today we’ve added a morning Ganirelix into the mix to keep things on track before egg collection next week!!
