SAThe first major project in the new house is DONE! 🙌🏼 As most of you know, we recently bought a 90s fixer-upper, complete with old shag carpet throughout 😅 Not only was it ugly, but it was impossible to keep clean (especially with a daughter with respiratory issues). We had LVP throughout our old house, and loved how durable and easy to clean it was.
We stopped by our local @floortraderofvirginia, where we were taken through all the different flooring options and colors, before deciding upon @canopy. Some of my favorite reasons we chose Canopy, were:
1. The family that owns Canopy actually INVENTED LVP (buy from the best, right?!)
2. Waterproof foamed core and cork on the back, adds cushion under your feet, and help with noise dampening (amazing for toddlers who RUN through the house and outside baby sister’s room while she’s napping 😵💫)
3. The cork on the back is anti-microbial. Wait… what’s that mean? Cork contains “suberin”, which helps resist mold, mildew, and bacteria growth. (Why cork has been used for centuries with wine, it doesn’t rot easily and stays clean!) It also doesn’t hold onto odors, dust mites, or common household allergens the way other underlayment may. With kids, pets, that built-in resistance gives me reassurance that the floors won’t trap bacteria or smell funky 20 years from now.
4. They LOOK and FEEL like real wood, without the worry of scratching them and upkeep
5. The Toasted Oak planks are 7” x 5ft, and I loved the larger planks and how they looked higher end

If your child has skin issues,
Make sure they are drinking and bathing in filtered water. Avoid fleece or polyester pajamas, or non organic pajamas with flame retardants.
Oil wash their skin instead of using soap, you can use organo jojoba oil or @hemp.solv adapt cleanse
Make sure their in no mold in the washing machine or in the bathroom or towels, if something smells musty, it's mold your smelling!

SATips for winding down and creating a calm sleep environment for Miles 🧸💤 First up, we have been using the @get.canopy Humidifier since day 1. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and mold resistant. It’s our best friend when he is congested, helps him breath well and is amazing for his skin. Miles has super dry skin and it has been so helpful for him! We have one in our room too - the Humidifier is a must! Recently, we have been pairing it with the @get.canopy Little Dreams Aroma Kit. His room is like a zen den over here. It’s the best!
Second, he has to have his lovey blankets. These are his ultimate comfort.
Third, we always read before sleep. Lately, he holds the book and turns the pages and he loves it.
Fourth, we set up his little lullaby machine. This is actually what Jacob used as a baby.
Lastly, we try to get the room as dark as possible and have lots of cuddles before so he is comforted.

We use the internet for #homeschool stuff all the time and my kids love looking up educational videos to further explain something that they are interested in. But if you’ve ever been on the internet you know it can be a dangerous place, especially for kids 🙈🙉🙊

This gives them the opportunity to have some say in their choices of what they access while still giving us the control to block what is harmful. It’s important to us to guard their heart, mind, character and integrity and not to compromise these things in the name of “freedom.” 💂♀️
We still always supervise our kids when on devices seeing as they are still quite young, but I love having a resource like this to prepare us for parenting kids in a world that is much more digital than when I grew up. It’s like navigating a whole new universe! #millennialmoms 📱 It’s our job as parents to teach them how to navigate this world safely, online and offline.
