GOHow to start acting checklist ✅
-
1️⃣. Take an acting class to see if you even like it! If you are brand brand new I suggest and improv class or a commercial acting class. 🎭
2️⃣. Work as an extra or stand-in. I know extra work isn’t the long term goal as an actor but if you are new this is a great way to get experience, learn set protocol plus something to add to your resume. 🎥
3️⃣. Get signed up on Actors Access, Casting Workbook, Casting Network and Backstage. Most offer a free profile to start and if you want to upgrade down the road you can 💻
4️⃣.Get quality headshots, you will need a commercial headshot and a theatrical headshot, do your research! 📸
5️⃣. Create an acting resume! Including any acting credits along with training and any special skills. 📃
6️⃣. Get signed with a talent agent 🎭
7️⃣. Learning to audition is very important! 🎬
8️⃣. Start auditioning for student films & local commercials 📺
9️⃣. Network with other actors, help be a reader and go to industry events! 🔆
🔟. Practice, be patient & constant! Overnight successes were really 10 years of hard work! Acting is a long game 🌟
