SU🔥 AWARD WINNING CHILI, aka the only recipe that matters
This isn’t just chili, this is the “people ask for the recipe mid bite” kind of chili. The “won the office cookoff and ruined chili for everyone else” kind. The “you’ll never go back to the canned stuff again” kind.
✨ Bacon sizzled. Spice layered. Slow simmered in the crockpot all day until the flavors practically apologize for how good they are.
You don’t need a chili craving… this will create one.
📌 Save this now, because once you taste it, you’ll wish you made a double batch. Recipe is below, and it is NOT messing around.
📝 AWARD-WINNING CHILI RECIPE
Ingredients
• 5 strips bacon (crispy!)
• Onion, red bell pepper, garlic
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tbsp chili powder + 1 tbsp ancho chili powder
• 1½ tsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp cumin + onion powder
• Salt, pepper, cayenne
• 1¼ cup beef broth
• 15 oz each dark red kidney & black beans
• 7 oz roasted green chiles
• ¼ cup tomato paste
• 14 oz fire roasted tomatoes
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook bacon in a pan until crispy. Remove and set aside, saving a tablespoon of that tasty bacon grease.
2️⃣ In the same pan, cook onion and pepper in the bacon fat (yes, really) until soft.
3️⃣ Add garlic and cook for 1-2 mins.
4️⃣ Add ground beef and cook until almost done.
5️⃣ Add spices + brown sugar. Cook a few mins more.
6️⃣ Transfer everything (including bacon) to crockpot. Add remaining ingredients.
7️⃣ Cook on low for 8 hours. Stir. Taste. Top with shredded cheddar, sour cream, Fritos, jalapeños, or whatever you love.
📣 QOTD: When it comes to chili… are you a purist or a topping maximalist? Tell me your bowl: cheese? sour cream? chips? cornbread crumbled on top?
