Find some churches, go on eventbrite for Christian events, hit up a Christian you know… take that step. 2. STILLNESS: it’s very difficult but so necessary. I think not doomscrolling will get rid of 70% of your problems. Set a timer. Delete the app if you have to. Schedule your posts. SOMETHING. Learn to sit with Him. Journal. Talk to Him. Meditate on one verse. Ask Him to reveal Himself. We notice Him more when we make time for Him. 3. HONESTY- I used to think being a “good Christian” was by being strong - unphased and untempted by sin. “I’m not like that.” Or “I’m just gunna force myself to pray.” And it is good to press in when you don’t feel it cause we don’t run our lives by feelings, however, being honest with God is one of the best things you can do in the midst of all that. He wants to work with you but if you don’t let Him in, how will He fix it? He’s a gentleman, so He won’t force you to heal. Just be honest and the growth and comfort will come. (John 15:2) 🌿 Cleaving & Leaving — To step into God’s call, you sometimes have to leave behind what was familiar. (Genesis 2:24, Isaiah 43:18–19) Losing friendships can feel like rejection, but often it’s redirection. God is making space for the community you need for the next season. Here are 5 ways to find new God-centered community ⬇️ 1️⃣ Get Planted in a Local Church and with Community 📖 “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish.” (Psalm 92:13) Join a small group, Bible class, or serving team. If you need a remote option, I lead a women’s Bible study through @sherisesministry 2️⃣ Be Vulnerable About Your Faith 📖 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other.” (James 5:16) You can’t build real connection if you’re hiding the real you. 3️⃣ Seek Out Accountability Partners 📖 “Two are better than one… if either of them falls, one can help the other up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10) Ask God to bring people who will call you higher. 4️⃣ Say Yes to Christian Events or Retreats 📖 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17) Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone—you may find your people there. 5️⃣ Pray Boldly for Kingdom Friendships 📖 “Ask and it will be given to you.” (Matthew 7:7) God cares about the people you surround yourself with. Although I didn’t know any of the people leading the conference, and I was one of only 20 people in that room, I needed to be there. A lot of times we shy away from attending Christian events or seeking community because we either don’t know the person who’s hosting, or no one is going with us. Sometimes those uncomfortable spaces are the keys to your breakthrough. Of course, I always ask the Lord to give me discernment in which conference to attend, and to not let anything but the truth of His word fall on my ears because at the end of the day, we are human and we make mistakes. But I needed to be in this room, I just felt led to be there and listened to that nudge and decided to go, and as a result I left feeling full and renewed. “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16 BE TAUGHT.
