Update: We have a rescue commitment from our friends at @gulfcoasthumanesociety 🎉♥️ Introducing PEONY. We were not surprised to learn that PEONY had a first approved adopter who adopted her as soon as her stray hold ended. We were, however, surprised and saddened to learn that PEONY was returned today for being “too old.” This adorable sweetheart came to the shelter as a stray senior dog. She is estimated to be around 13 years old. She likely needs dental care, may be hard of hearing, and may have cataracts. She is, however, very loving and deserving of someone who will give her the best life in her golden years. You’re always in good hands with JAKE from State Farm. 😜 So if you want to worry less and wag more, adopt our good boy JAKE. This sweet, snow-kissed face fellow is our longest term shelter dog (2 years and counting 💔). He is house broken and well mannered in a home. He is a serious cuddle bug and considers himself an 76-pound lap dog. JAKE is generally low energy (he loves a good nap) but has short bouts of excitement and play. He can be mouthy and pushy in his excitement (perhaps too much for small children) and he can pull strongly on leash but walks much better in a harness. JAKE is selective about his canine friends but has found compatible playmates. He would also be very happy as a solo pet as he loves to follow his hoomans around and soak up all the attention. JAKE is pure unconditional love and extremely eager to please.
