The perfect kit doesn’t exi— actually, it does. If you’ve been here for a bit, you’ll know I trust Columbia gear for my outdoor adventures. This winter, I picked up this kit, the Platinum Peak II, and put it to the test across all my favorite winter activities. After using it heavily, here’s my take. This shell performs incredibly well for splitboarding. The fabric is light enough that I don’t overheat on the uphill, while still protecting me from the wind. It breathes well on all kinds of missions thanks to the three-layer construction and 20K/20K rating. It’s also great for resort riding. Even on the snowiest days, it keeps me dry thanks to Omni-Tech™ fully seam-sealed construction, which prevents moisture from getting in while staying breathable. I’ve also used it for snowmobiling, and one feature I really love for this is how the pants clip into the jacket. It creates a bib-like effect that keeps snow and cold out when bending over or hopping on and off the sled, while still allowing me to move comfortably. Big days or mellow laps, this set has me covered. I loved it so much that I grabbed the men’s version for my partner too, and now we’re matching in the mountains 🤍 #columbiapartner #engineeredforwhatever
