DDThe Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) on Tuesday urged the state government to push for a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and amendments to the Scheduled Tribes Order, 1950.
Chairman Roy Kupar Synrem said the demand is driven by concerns over alleged illegal immigration, inclusion of non-citizens, and “dual voters,” especially in border areas. He stressed the need for a clean electoral system and review of the ST Order.
CoMSO has set a 45-day deadline for action and warned of democratic protests if its demands are not addressed.
