The cited items are maintenance-related code violations they are not life-threatening, not emergency conditions, and do not pose any immediate health risks or exposure concerns. At no point has anyone been placed in immediate danger. While these items are important to correct (as any maintenance matter is), they are procedural and preventative in nature. If left unaddressed over time, they could potentially develop into larger issues which is exactly why we are proactively taking care of them now. We believe in transparency and felt it was important to share our side of the story. Our team is already working with qualified professionals to resolve everything quickly and properly. Community Update on the balloon incident. 🐢 Thank you, everyone, for raising your voice! You all are amazing!!! We are in contact with the couple and the company that was hired to organize the “balloon surprise.” Both parties are very, very sorry, and they have both promised to never touch a balloon again. Neither of them knew that it is illegal, and they didn’t consider the consequences. Of course, it should be common sense, and they both agreed on this as well. Once more, they are deeply sorry; they simply didn’t think about it. The couple has made a donation to Clean Miami Beach, and both have committed to participating in our future cleanups. If you happen to spot balloon releases again, please do let us know. We hope not to see them anymore, but this is still Miami 😉 Anything could happen here. 📣North Ryde Common: Community Update📣⁣ Today I met Minister @paulscullymp , and representatives from the offices of the Premier and Minister @stevekampermp to discuss media and political speculation surrounding the future of the North Ryde common site. ⁣ It was a constructive meeting, and I reiterated in no uncertain terms that North Ryde Common should not be developed and that the community is strongly against development on the site. They assured me they will come back to me shortly and I look forward to hearing from them soon. In metropolitan Sydney, open space must be protected. There are plenty of other options to deliver more housing, before using North Ryde Common.

Thanks to the quick response, dedicated cleanup efforts, and the overwhelming support from the community, there is renewed hope for reopening soon. At this time, La Casita is awaiting final approval from the Health Department and building inspectors. Once approved, the restaurant expects to reopen the front dining area, while the banquet room will remain closed until further notice. There is optimism that reopening could happen as soon as tomorrow, depending on those final clearances. The La Casita family has emphasized how deeply grateful they are for the love, prayers, and support they continue to receive.
