One of my favorite videos of all time of us 😅 Its 2016 and I am getting ready to compete at the American Open. @brenton.roggow and I are newly dating - not engaged, not married. He knew how important this was to me in the moment, how hard I had been training, how much I loved competing and how focused I was at this point (if im putting my singlet on, it likely means I was a few lifts out from the platform). He’s just THERE. Supportive, silent, calm, confident, relaxed energy - (and looking at me like “woman would you PLEASEEE stop squirming 🤣”) exactly what I needed in that moment. I didn’t need him to speak, I didn’t need profound motivational words. I know what I am doing, I am confident, I am capable. I just needed him to support that and be there. (The final glance at the end like “k, she’s good now” 🥺) Brenton understood this from day one and since this video, he has always shown up EXACTLY how I needed him in each moment: in competitions, in big life decisions, in running businesses, in birthing kids, in raising kids. I didn’t know it then, but this video showed me everything I needed to know about how our relationship would be. I often get questions of how I “do it all”, its because he’s RIGHT behind me. Thank you for always letting me be me 😍
