Ever wondered why arrays begin at index 0 instead of 1?* 🤔 In computer memory, arrays are stored in a straight line. The address of each item is found with this simple formula: Address = Base Address + Index For index 0 → Base + 0 (direct & fast access) If arrays started at index 1 → Base + (Index - 1) That extra subtraction would run every time — adding needless overhead.
