This legendary trance track was originally created to save lives after the rave ended Released in 1995, “Children” by Robert Miles became one of the defining tracks of the dream trance era. Built around its unforgettable piano melody, the record topped charts across Europe in 1996 and went on to become one of the most recognizable instrumental dance tracks ever made. The track carried a deeper purpose too. Miles wrote it after seeing photos of child war victims from the former Yugoslavia and also hoped its calming atmosphere would encourage DJs to end their sets with something peaceful, helping exhausted clubbers drive home safely.
