LIThe inflation report for the month of May was released this morning. It found inflation increased slightly between April and May and increased 2.4% between May of 2024 and May of 2025. But it’s a curious announcement made by the government agency that reports these numbers that has people concerned. The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced last week that they are reducing their data collection efforts. That change makes lawmakers and economists very concerned that questionable data doesn’t accurately reflect the state of the US economy which may result in poor decision making by the government, the Federal Reserve and businesses. This video explains why this is all happening now.
