JUSometimes, it doesn’t feel like a big deal. Just one small choice and one impulsive moment that seems harmless. In the 2011 “Touch the Rainbow” campaign by Skittles, created by TBWA\Chiat\Day, a massive design made entirely of yellow Skittles stood perfectly in place, except for one blue piece that seemed out of order. It looked wrong, so he touched it. In an instant, the entire structure collapsed.
Life works the same way. We often think small actions don’t matter. One skipped prayer, one compromise, one “I deserve this” moment, or one impulsive reaction may seem insignificant at the time. But those tiny decisions have a ripple effect, shaping days, relationships, and even the trajectory of our lives. What feels minor today can unravel months of effort or, conversely, set the stage for incredible growth.
As Christians, this lesson resonates deeply. Scripture reminds us that small things matter, a little yeast works through the whole dough, and the little foxes can spoil the vine. Our faith is built through consistent, intentional choices. One decision to act in obedience, to pray, or to show love can compound over time, creating a foundation that is strong and enduring.
The beauty is that the same power of one small decision works for good. One intentional step toward God, one moment of patience, or one choice to prioritize His will can shape your character, strengthen your faith, and transform your life. Pause before you act impulsively. Ask yourself: “Am I building what God is designing in my life, or am I slowly tearing it down?” Because what may seem like a tiny decision today could change everything tomorrow.
