THSometimes the greatest barrier to success is simply knowing that something is supposedly impossible. In an inspiring speech clip, actor Peter Dinklage shares a childhood memory about a bumblebee poster that carries a profound lesson about ignoring limitations.
Dinklage recalls that when he and his sibling were kids, their mother hung a poster over their bed featuring a picture of a bumblebee. He explains that the caption underneath read: "According to all aerodynamic laws, the bumblebee cannot fly because its body weight is not in the right proportion to its wingspan." However, the poster concluded with a powerful punchline: "But ignoring these laws, the bee flies anyway".
Nature doesn't care about the rules humans have invented to explain it. When you stop listening to the critics who insist your goals are mathematically or logically impossible, you give yourself the permission to just fly.
