If you’ve been told crawling isn’t a milestone… please hear this.
The CDC removed crawling from their checklist several years ago. And now many parents are told it doesn’t matter if their baby is struggle through this milestone.
Crawling builds shoulder strength, core stability, coordination, and communication between both sides of the brain. It lays groundwork for so many skills that come next.
When a baby is not crawling, that is not random.
It is not a personality trait.
And it is not something to ignore.
Not crawling is not typical.
It is usually a sign that a specific piece of strength or coordination needs support.
And with the right guidance, that can be fixed.
If you’ve been told to “wait it out” but your gut says otherwise, you are not overreacting.
