My guest on the Huberman lab podcast out now is Steven Pressfield, author of numerous best selling books and screenplays. We discussed how to overcome resistance and procrastination using practical tools, not mantras or inspirational language.

Steven wrote his first book at 52 (!) and at 82 is still incredibly mentally and physically vigorous (!) He resistance trains 5 days a week at 4:45 AM, and approaches his writing with the same rigor. 2 hours a day every day. No exceptions.

Here we are discussing what happens if you do not pursue your dreams. And while that might seem like a luxury, there are numerous accounts of people finding an hour or two per day to write or draw or do things to build out their creative dreams.

His point is not meant to scare people into doing what they love, but rather to consider seriously what they most want and to make the pockets of time to pursue that.

His point that the energy we are endowed with to make our own unique contribution to the world is a sort of divine energy is one I subscribe to… and I agree that if we don’t channel it correctly, it can end up being destructive.
