EMTake It or Leave It?
Here’s what most trainers don’t tell you —
➡️It’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it.
Most people teach “leave it” by adding pressure:
Voice gets sharp. Body stiffens.
The puppy freezes — not from understanding, but stress.
I teach it differently.
➡️ “Take it” creates a choice-based mindset —
I’m helping the puppy learn self-control before they grab something.
✅They learn to wait.
✅To think.
✅To check in.
That’s real impulse control.
🐾 And yes — if your puppy is running for something dangerous?
➡️➡️You can absolutely say “leave it” firmly. But that’s reactive.
My method builds proactive puppies.
They learn not to grab in the first place.
That’s a puppy who’s thinking, not just obeying.
So… are you a proactive or reactive trainer?

Do you say “take it,” “leave it,” or something else?
Let’s talk real-world training.
