BYTis the season and I'm going to take it back to when I was doing full face/body paint for fun and for Halloween. This little ditty was from 2020 during lockdown.
I was originally inspired by Tretchikoff's "The Chinese Girl/ The Green Lady" but on my search for reference photos, I came across "The Chinese Girl (an ode to Tretchikoff)" by Angelique Houtkamp. Both the original painting and the inspired painting are beautiful, so I wanted to recreate it with makeup and hair. I chose to go with Houtkamp's more graphic 20's Era style.
Special thanks to @sarah_bellum88 for gifting me with the Tretchikoff that I have been searching high and low for at every vintage shop. She's beautiful and perfect. I love her so much.
This year, I will not be doing a full face of makeup. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of time that I don't have. But I will be dressing up as someone nostalgic, per usual. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
