It’s never a bad idea to let go and dive into His Love and Truth. To be found in His Presence. It goes on to speak of what a sweet aroma we are to Him and those in Him. But to the lost we are a deeply unpleasant aroma… The light in the dark & carrying the Life in the death … this causes a remembrance to the God given consciences of mankind. This causes people to remember Him! Which can be met with intense war… Yet!! On Wednesday, 24 September 2025, 12 female reporters were inducted as fellows of the ReportWomen! Female Reporters’ Leadership Programme (FRLP). This event marked another milestone in the promotion of gender equality in the Nigerian media space. This is an highlight from the induction. The ReportWomen! programme launched in 2014 to address the under-representation of women in newsroom leadership. The fellowship officially began in 2017 and has since grown into a respected platform that builds women leaders in media and amplifies women- and girl-centered stories. With its sixth cohort, FRLP has produced 98 Fellows drawn from across Nigeria, with two from Ghana. Collectively, they have published 148 investigative stories and executed 150 women- and girls-focused leadership projects. We remain committed to strengthening female voices in the news and the newsrooms, breaking barriers, and shaping a more inclusive media landscape.

I had the privilege of holding the microphone as compère for the 6th ReportWomen! Female Reporters Leadership Programme (FRLP) Induction and Award Ceremony, hosted by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) This was more than a ceremony. It was a showcase of fearless storytelling. The 2025 fellows dug into issues ranging from how technology fuels Nigeria’s digital sex trade, to the struggles of visually impaired girls excluded from education, the rising trend of underage sex work, the silent battle with postpartum depression, corruption crippling healthcare, and even the growing threat of femicide online and offline. These stories remind us why journalism matters; to shine light where silence often reigns, and to give voice to those who are unseen or unheard. To the newly minted fellows, Congratulations on your induction. NorthPark is excited to announce a partnership with Bowman High School. Bowman has a highly economically disadvantaged student population. Out of 350 students, 68% are on FRLP (Free Reduced Lunch Program), and 72 students are homeless. There is a constant need for clothing and non-perishable foods. Jesus calls to us to meet the needs of our neighbors. So we are inviting you to signup via CarePortal to help our neighbors in need. There are more details to come regarding our partnership, as well as Bowman’s new Resource/Wellness center. In the meantime, we’d like to let you know that we have begun  collecting donations of clothing (for high school-aged kids) and non-perishable food. Please feel free to bring the items directly to NorthPark.
