KWWow. “Fandomcon”. Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had as a vendor.
We set up Thursday. Came back Friday at 12:30 PM, and the event was still messy, unfinished, and unorganized. Doors were supposed to open at 2 PM… they opened around 2:40 PM. All vendors were just looking at each other like “what is going on?”
Foot traffic was extremely low. Not just “slow Friday” low, but unreal for a paid convention low. I paid $1,222.43 for this booth (the highest I’ve ever paid), and it felt like we were stuck in an empty building all weekend.
This 3-day event turned into my worst vendor nightmare. Even tiny events with a few vendors have had better turnout than this. It was nothing like what was promised.
The stress was real. I felt sick, couldn’t sleep, and honestly felt so disappointed for all vendors, voice actors/actresses, celebrities, and especially the attendees there.
Saturday and Sunday, vendors started leaving. I don’t blame them. I stayed because I live nearby and didn’t want it to feel even emptier for others.
Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported, or even just smiled. It meant so so much during a really tough weekend 🤍
To my fellow vendors: please be careful when choosing events. Do your research. I wish I had dug deeper before committing to this one.
These are just a few of the issues. We kept hearing more and more from other vendors throughout the event.
I’m sharing this because I don’t want anyone else to go through the same experience. If you’ve had similar experiences, speak up and help others avoid it too.
We’ll learn, grow, and come back stronger.
This is just my personal experience and opinion.
How was Fandomcon for you?
