ALI’m reading a book from 1945 on farm management right now… and in the opening chapters the author states how important it is that anyone in the farming or ag space be aware of grants, programs, and tax breaks available to them.
Today when I post this stuff, many people tell me I’m making a deal with the devil. You guys, I haven’t signed a single binding contract with the USDA. They have provided me with hours upon hours of free advising and support.
“Yeah but there’s no such thing as free help.”
Energetically, you are correct! This isn’t ’free.’ This is funded by US federal tax dollars. We all paid INTO this. I am merely exploring what’s available to me now as someone trying to garden or farm.
All of this is available to BEGINNER farmers. If you’re brand new to farming or wanting to do this, this is available to you! We need more farmers. We need local food loops. We’re capable of feeding our communities LOCALLY!
I’ve had nothing but a pleasant experience with the USDA so far. I’m waiting to hear back about the grants I applied for through them next month.
