☑️Fad diets = temporary results.
I tried ENDLESS diets and would gain weight back because - IT WAS NOT SUSTAINABLE. To lose fat you need ONE thing, a calorie deficit aka eating less than you burn. Choose a diet you can see yourself sticking with long term so your results are long term.
☑️ Tracking calories is a game changer for fat loss.
I used to blindly follow meal plans not knowing calories should be specific to me. While tracking may not for everyone, it is SO effective. I compare it to budgeting. If you were overspending the first thing you would do is look at income and spending. Calories work the same way. Trying to work off of someone else’s budget won’t work. Track where you are, know your numbers and adjust as needed.
☑️ Tracking every macro is NOT necessary.
It’s overwhelming to track every macro. Studies prove if you hit your calories and hit your protein, fat loss is the same regardless of fat and carb ratios. Focus on calories and protein, you’ll lose fat and lots of flexibility.
☑️Reverse dieting is KEY for long term fat loss.
I’m my 20’s, I cut calories then didn’t know how to NOT diet without gaining. But deficits should not be lived in. I now know eating more (strategically) via a reverse diet will help metabolism and prevent weight regain.
☑️Muscle Makes Fat Loss Easier!
I used to avoid lifting heavy out of fear of getting “bulky”. But muscle helps give you a better metabolism so you can lose fat and keep it off. Plus it is what gives your body that sculpted look!
☑️Muscle + Less body fat = Toned.
I used to try different workouts claiming to “lengthen and tone” my muscles. But muscle can do 2 things; grow or shrink. When you grow them and decrease body fat with your diet, you get “toned”.
☑️Metabolism Slows from Lifestyle, not age.
At 25 I thought metabolism dropped after 40. But in reality muscle loss and less activity impacts metabolism, NOT aging. alone. Good news, you can control BOTH. My plan is specific to my age so I optimize metabolism and can stay fit for life!
