SHEnsuring safe and wholesome food for every citizen. The FSSAI is intensifying its crackdown on food adulteration with a massive surge in testing, inspections, and legal actions.

Key Highlights:
🔹 Record Enforcement: Over the last three years, 5.18 lakh samples were analyzed, resulting in 88,192 penalties and 3,614 convictions.
🔹 License Cancellations: To maintain standards, 1,161 food business licenses were cancelled during this period.
🔹 Risk-Based Audit: FSSAI’s Risk Based Inspection System conducted 56,259 targeted inspections on high-risk food categories.
🔹 Testing Infrastructure: A robust ecosystem of 252 notified testing labs and 24 referral laboratories is operational nationwide.
🔹 Food Safety on Wheels: 305 mobile testing labs are deployed across 35 States and UTs to perform on-the-spot adulteration checks.
🔹 Shared Responsibility: While FSSAI sets standards, field-level enforcement is carried out by State Food Safety Authorities.
