I was proud to introduce a resolution recogn — Today’s City Council session was about honoring service, culture, and community across Philadelphia. 🏙️ I was proud to introduce a resolution recognizing the women of the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office during Women’s History Month, uplifting their tireless service, sacrifice, and invaluable contributions to the safety and well-being of our city under the leadership of Rochelle Bilal (@phillysheriff). 👮🏾‍♀️🚨💪🏾 We also introduced meaningful resolutions, led by Councilmember @cindybassphilly, celebrating Mary Nolan and her family for their lasting impact at the Commodore Barry Arts & Cultural Center (@irishcenterphilly), and by @cmninaahmad recognizing the contributions of Taiwanese Americans while strengthening Philadelphia’s global partnerships. 🌎 📊 💵 I was also proud to honor Donna Cooper of @childrenfirstpa, a true champion for our children and families here in Philadelphia. We celebrate the historic Black women legislators who broke barriers at every level of public service from the Ohio Statehouse to the halls of Congress. Leaders like Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Helen Rankin made history, opened doors, and expanded opportunities for generations to come. Their courage and commitment laid the foundation for progress and possibility across our state and our nation. We uplift our current Black women legislators, who are doing the work every single day, advocating for equitable policies, championing access to quality education, protecting voting rights, advancing healthcare equity, and fighting for economic opportunity across our communities. And we recognize the leadership of our President Shayla L. Davis, whose vision and dedication continue to guide our mission. Through steadfast advocacy and service, she embodies the spirit of Women’s History Month leading with purpose to ensure a more equitable Ohio for all. Because of their leadership past and present, Ohio is stronger, more inclusive, and more just.
