INIf your first layers feel random, they’re not.
Every print leaves behind residue. Every time you touch the plate, you add oils. And when you clean with low-grade alcohol, you’re often just smearing it around instead of actually removing it. Then nothing sticks — and it feels like your printer is the problem.
We dealt with the same thing. Prints would stick perfectly one day and lift the next. Before changing temps, filament, or hardware, we made one simple switch: 70% alcohol → 99% alcohol.
That alone fixed it. First layers went down consistently, adhesion issues disappeared, and we stopped chasing settings.
If you or someone you know is fighting “random” adhesion problems, try this before changing anything else.
