ROAvoid these mistakes if you have RV slide outs 👇
Before the “we’ve done it for years and never had an issue” crowd shows up…
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
If you’ve got Schwintek slides, this matters.
We wish we knew this sooner.
Slide repairs are not on anyone’s vision board and these Schwinteks are extra susceptible. We've had 4 repairs on the same track of ours in 3 years. 😱
Here are 3 things to remember:
1️⃣ Run them ALL the way in and ALL the way out.
No stopping halfway. No changing directions midway.
Hold the button for 3–5 seconds after it finishes moving so the system syncs.
2️⃣ Don’t use grease or random spray lube.
Most of the time you just need soap + water and a soft brush to clean the track.
If you’re going to use anything, it should be a dry lube with PTFE if possible.
No heavy grease. No soaking it in spray. These systems are picky.
3️⃣ Don’t run them unless you’re level.
We were told “as long as you’re close, you’re fine.”
That’s not how these systems are designed.
Slightly off can turn into a very expensive problem.
Did any of this surprise you?
💾Save this for later.
🔄Share it with your RV friend before they learn the hard way.
