Long-standing sponsors Café Blue shared their excitement about the collaboration between the Food and Drink Festival and the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival. Roasted beans were a staple at today’s festival, with a wide range of coffee options and vendors on display. The Café Blue team also attracted plenty of new customers after offering tastings and freshly ground coffee. They also provided games and nothing beats a round of Jenga!!

One of the best parts about events like Coffee Fest is the opportunity to meet people across the coffee ecosystem who are passionate about origin, farmers, and the story behind every cup. During Coffee Fest I had a great conversation with Jordan from Bell Bird Coffee, a company focused on sourcing Costa Rican coffee directly from farmers while educating consumers about the incredibly detailed and labor-intensive process it takes to produce truly great coffee. Jordan’s mission goes beyond just selling coffee. Through their work, each bag purchased helps support an orphan in Costa Rica, creating real impact for the communities connected to the coffee supply chain. What made this conversation even more interesting was Jordan sharing that Kenya produced some of the best coffee he has ever tasted and that his journey into coffee started with a simple mission: learning how to identify truly great coffee and differentiate it from the ordinary. That curiosity and pursuit of quality is something the entire specialty coffee community shares. Coffee is more than a beverage. It’s agriculture, community, education, and opportunity. With Coffee Fest happening this weekend in New York City, conversations like this remind us how global the coffee community really is connecting farmers, roasters, baristas, and entrepreneurs across continents. Shout out to Jordan and the team at Bell Bird Coffee for the work they’re doing to educate consumers and create meaningful impact.
