Australia has so many spiders because its warm climate lets them stay active and breed for longer, and a lot of the country doesn’t get the long, freezing winters that wipe out spider populations elsewhere.
Many areas also have plenty of insects for food, plus huge ranges of habitats, from rainforests to deserts, which means lots of different spider species can thrive. On top of that, Australia has been geographically isolated for millions of years, so spiders evolved into a wide variety of unique types there, making them feel extra common and everywhere.
