KIThe tourist trap in Giza nobody talks about🤬
If they only would let a certain amount of people per hour…
I was fully aware that I was stepping into a place with thousands of years of history, that’s exactly why I chose to visit.
That said, mass tourism is a real challenge, and I believe the overall visitor experience could be significantly improved by better managing capacity, for example by limiting the number of entries per hour. This would allow visitors to truly experience and appreciate the space, rather than simply pass through it.
This is not unique to the Great Pyramids, it’s a broader issue affecting many iconic sites around the world, from the Colosseum to Machu Picchu.
My concern wasn’t the heat or the physical effort, but rather the cumulative effect of overcrowding and poor visitor flow, which made the experience feel less meaningful and, at times, overly commercialized.
