I KNOW that Jesus is real. How can I say that with such confidence? I’ve had a personal relationship with Jesus for 19 years now. He leads, guides, helps, teaches, comforts, blesses, protects, provides, and cares for me DAILY. He’s always there for me and He will never leave nor forsake me. Even though He’s the all-powerful God and creator of the universe, I can come to Him boldly as His child. Even though He is Holy and I make mistakes CONSTANTLY, He makes me righteous and looks at me with absolute love and compassion. He’s my Lord and Savior. He died for my sins on the cross and saved me from eternal punishment. He calls me friend. No matter how bad it gets, I can always call on Him, knowing that He holds everything together and will cause all things to work out for the good. Jesus offers you the same. He’s calling you deeper. And change feels threatening.. especially when you’ve decided your sin feels too good. You’ve made peace with what’s slowly killing you.. You’ve dressed it up, excused it and maybe even preached it as love and freedom. 🥴 So yeah, when someone calls you to repentance, no shit you’re labeling it “fear mongering”. It feels “judgmental.” It feels “religious.” But the truth? It’s not fear that’s holding you back — it’s pride. It’s comfort. It’s the lie that God’s rules are chains, instead of lifelines. 🖤 Repentance isn’t about God hovering over you with lightning bolts, while shouting “you’ll go to hell if you don’t ___”. It’s about him ripping you out of a burning house, you didn’t even realize was on fire. 😮‍💨 So if the idea of turning from your sin makes you angry, defensive, or “offended,” — it’s not because the truth is wrong.. It’s because the truth hit exactly where it needed to. And if you think Christianity is about “scaring” people into obedience, you’ve missed it entirely. It’s about loving people into freedom.
