RUI visited Phoenix for a couple days this week on my Spring Break, and after getting to have my face melted off Tuesday night by @zakkwyldebls @dariolorina @johnjddeservio & @jefffabb at the BLS show, all I wanted to do was play my guitar. I was really moved by their tribute to Dime & Vinnie Paul during the show - it caught me off guard, but in a really cool way. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So when I walked up to the @guitarcenter that was across the street from our hotel the next morning & saw a poster of Dime in the window, I knew it was a sign that I needed to go in. And then after looking at all of the new guitars, when I turned around and saw this Dean hanging in the Used section, I got goosebumps & couldn’t wait to play it.
Yesterday 3/11 would have been Vinnie Paul’s 62nd birthday - he was a year younger than what my dad would be if he were alive today too. So, yesterday in the Phoenix Guitar Center, this little jam was for them - for Dime, for Vinnie Paul & for my Dad, Tim Watson 🤘 Godspeed.
