KITrust me… I learned these the hard way 😮💨🥲
1️⃣Going full send on the SkiErg.
I’ve done it started way too hard, legs burning, heart rate through the roof… and then realizing it’s just workout one.
Pace smart. HYROX is a marathon with burpees. 🫠😮💨
2️⃣ Watch out for water stations!! 👀💦
Sounds funny, but I slipped badly there once the floor can get super wet. I even posted that fail here as a reel… so yeah, learn from my pain 😅
3️⃣ Not eating enough before the race 🍌
Huge mistake. HYROX will drain your energy fast. If you don’t fuel properly, you’ll crash halfway through.
4️⃣ Check your shoes. Seriously ❗️👟
Double-knot them after warm-up and again right before the start.
My boyfriend @colossusflex learned that the hard way when his laces came undone during the SkiErg 😬
5️⃣ Don’t push both sled lanes without a break ❌🔥
Did that once two full lanes, no pause. Lactate hit HARD. Legs on fire for the rest of the race.
Take short pauses, split into half lanes. Your body will thank you later 😮💨
6️⃣ Row tip (save your legs) 🚣♀️
When my legs are completely cooked on the row, I sometimes pull more with my arms and upper body and stay more upright.
It gives my legs a short break small reset, big help.
7️⃣ Warm-up matters more than you think 🔥
I go into warm-up about 50 minutes before the start and really get my body hot.
Last 5 minutes: only light movement.
Don’t stand around too long in the start tunnel stay loose, then go.
