THYou want to know how I got a 7 in IB Biology?
Alright. Here’s the part nobody likes to hear.
Reading the textbook does not save you.
I used to do it for years.
Hours and hours.
Page after page.
And the next day, I could still spit it all back out.
But IB exams?
Different beast.
There’s too much content.
Way too much to cram into a brain that only holds it overnight.
Even if you manage to brute-force it, it’s a terrible way to spend your time.
I figured this out by accident.
I got my mum to quiz me.
She’d open the book, pick random questions, and fire them at me.
That’s when the concepts finally stuck.
Not because I read them…
but because I had to explain them.
Later I learned there was a name for this: active recall.
And it changed everything.
This is how any IB student can hit a 7.
Doesn’t matter if you feel smart or clueless.
Stop rereading.
Start testing yourself.
Make your brain do the heavy lifting.
That’s the whole secret.
