When you want to make a dress for spring but don’t have enough fabric… I decided to upcycle a cotton bedsheet we had that hadn’t been used in a long time. It started out as a light faded green, and ended up this brighter spring green after two rounds of @ritdye. I started with neon yellow and green to try and pull out some of that gray, washed-out undertone, and have a brighter base. My second round was with a truer, spring green. The difference is subtle, but it’s there! 🌱 I have been wanting to make the #bettydress for a long time! I love the peasant-ish neckline and vibe, along with the A-line skirt. It also features that corset-style tie in the back, adding its’ vintage style. It’s giving cottage core, it’s giving dinner party, it’s giving really easy to make placemats ✨ Two bits of fabric (I interfaced the gingham one to make it stiffer), stitch them together somehow (I machine embroidered some swirls), finish the edge. That’s it! You could get creative and add a little wadding between the layers, trims, bias binding, details, but I wanted to keep these really simple 🫶🏻
