BRI was chatting with a business owner recently who had just attended a “social media growth” presentation…and you guys😫, she left feeling completely overwhelmed, inadequate, and paralyzed in fear of not doing it right.
Why? Because the speaker listed a bunch of random rules that they “had” to follow to grow and honestly? The few I was told about didn’t even make sense😅
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but social media growth doesn’t have to feel like a full-time job OR a panic attack.
✨ Post before it’s perfect.
✨ Try things, tweak things, repurpose things.
✨ Focus on consistency over perfection — always.
✨ Show up like a human, not a robot.
I understand why this speaker did it. Approaching it this way makes the audience feel like they aren’t adequate enough to do it themselves and you’re the answer. It causes panicked sign ups which equals $$$$.
But, I don’t run my business that way. I never have.
I want anyone who comes to my page or talks to me to feel like they CAN do it themselves.
I want them to hire me because they feel like they’re ready to hand off the social media tasks and spend that time doing other income generating things for their business OR they feel like they just want to uplevel what they’re already doing!
I don’t want them to sign up with me because they’re scared of what will happen if they don’t.
Maybe running my business like this loses me money. Maybe it goes against business advice. But the beauty of business ownership means you can choose how you run it and this is how I choose to run mine…with ethical values, customer service centered, and empathy.
If you’ve ever felt that pressure, I’m here to remind you: there’s a better way.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me about questions, concerns, etc. I’m genuinely happy to help any way I can🫶🏼
