LAToday I joined a briefing with the Ambassador of India to the UAE to discuss the current situation and the safety of Indian residents in the region. @india_in_uae
Key updates shared:
• There is no need for evacuation at this point. The UAE remains stable and Indian residents are safe.
• Residents are advised to stay calm and not be misled by rumors. Please rely only on official channels for verified updates.
• The Indian Embassy has activated a 24/7 helpline to assist Indian nationals in the UAE.
• Passport and consular services are continuing as usual.
For those who need to travel:
• Flights have gradually resumed and will continue increasing in the coming days.
• Local and Indian airlines are working around the clock to operate flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
• Over 7,000 Indians have already returned home.
• Many travelers are also using the Oman corridor as an alternative route.
• The embassy is actively assisting stranded tourists and residents who need support returning home.
It was also shared that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed @hhshkmohd and Prime Minister Narendra Modi @narendramodi have spoken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Indians in the UAE.
