BEThis is one of the cruelest parts of betrayal that no one prepares you for.
It’s not just that he cheated.
It’s that your brain won’t let the words go.
Every message.
Every compliment he gave her.
Every “I miss you,” “you make me feel alive,” “I’ve never felt this way.”
They loop.
On repeat.
At the worst times .. driving, showering, laying in bed at night when the house is finally quiet.
And people will say things like,
“Stop replaying it.”
“Don’t dwell.”
“Just focus on the future.”
But your nervous system is stuck trying to make sense of the moment your reality shattered.
You’re not obsessing because you’re weak.
You’re replaying because your brain is trying to protect you, trying to understand how someone you trusted could say those words to someone else.
If this is you right now, please hear this:
There is nothing wrong with you.
This is trauma.
And it does ease with the right support, understanding, and time.
You won’t always hear his words this loudly.
One day, they won’t control your thoughts at all.
Until then be gentle with yourself.
You’re not broken.
You’re grieving a version of safety that was taken from you. 💔
If you’re stuck replaying the messages and wondering why you can’t “just move on,”
I explain exactly what’s happening in your brain after betrayal in my free training.
Comment “SECRETS” and I’ll send it to you. You’re not crazy you’re healing.dont go through this alone ♥️ 🫂
