I stopped drinking coffee on an empty stomach, with no exceptions! this impacts cortisol regulation and blood sugar, both are directly connected to inflammation 2. I stopped working out 6 days a week, I was giving my body zero time to recover and causing my cortisol to be sky high which was causing inflammation! now I focus on 3 strength training days, 1 day of mat Pilates/Lagree, 1 day of mobility + stretching, 10K steps & 2 full rest days 3. I stopped avoiding carbs and undereating, last year I calculated my macros and tracked my food and noticed how much I was under eating carbs and as a whole. when the body isn’t nourished properly it signals lack of safety and triggers a stress response 4. I stopped pretending that my nervous system was regulated and my stress levels were fine and started really doing the work. I’ve lived 15+ years in fight or flight due to childhood trauma and I really BS’d myself for years by thinking I could meditate my way out of chronic stress (I couldn’t), stress = inflammation 5. I stopped ignoring the feedback my body was giving me and continuing to push. if I’m tired I rest, if I’m having some kind of symptom I pay attention and get curious to find the root 6. I stopped eating while distracted, no more scrolling, no more tv, now I take 3 deep breaths before meals and am present while I eat to support digestion 7. I stopped needing to constantly be busy and making myself feel guilty for resting, being able to rest and feel safe while doing it is key for the nervous system 8. I stopped scrolling, I set boundaries with my phone, I don’t check it for an hour after I wake up + an hour before bed 9. I stopped letting my bedtime fluctuate, a consistent bedtime and sleep schedule signals safety to the body and nervous system 10. I stopped “doing everything” in the pursuit of healing, I stopped throwing supplements at my symptoms, I stopped trying every practice. instead I’m slowing down & trusting my body if you want more tips + foods + supplements to lower inflammation comment HEAL #inflammation #antiinflammatory #balancedhormomes #nervoussystem
