PC📰 Intel Announces Core Ultra 7 270K Plus & Core Ultra 5 250K Plus — “Fastest Gaming Desktop CPUs” Yet
Intel has officially revealed two new desktop processors — the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus — which the company claims are its fastest gaming CPUs ever. The chips are part of an updated desktop lineup designed to improve gaming performance after mixed reactions to previous Arrow Lake processors.
The flagship Core Ultra 7 270K Plus features a 24-core design with boost clocks up to 5.5 GHz, aiming to compete directly with mainstream enthusiast CPUs like the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. Meanwhile, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus targets the mid-range market while still promising strong gaming and productivity performance.
Key improvements in the new chips include additional efficiency cores, faster CPU-memory communication, and support for high-speed DDR5-7200 memory. Intel also introduced a Binary Optimization Tool that can significantly boost gaming performance in certain titles — with reported gains of up to 39% in some games, though many titles see smaller improvements.
Both processors maintain a 125 W TDP, remain compatible with Intel 800-series motherboards, and are scheduled to launch on March 26, 2026.
