When I was younger I used to wonder why I barely had a bridge to my nose like the other kids 🥺 I used to get made fun of for my nose. And that it was too pushed up, and that I looked like a pig. Now I love my lil Inuk nose.
I get dms filled with people asking which doctor I went to for my nose job. 🙃 I am not sure who started this idea that I had a nose job but it’s not a nose job, it’s genetics and a product of my ancestors living through the elements over thousands of years. 🌬️❄️

My tattoos connect me to my ancestors and to the generations who weren’t able to practice our culture. They’re very personal and unique to me and what is weird is that I have always felt they have always been there. Now I feel more beautiful than ever.
I want people to understand the beauty of our people and culture. What our ancestors, grandparents, parents have been through allows us to understand what we feel to work forward and make change. I am still learning and in a place like everyone else, discovering their identity. I am not here to be praised or put on a pedestal. I am here to showcase my journey and educate.” -@shinanova

CBThis Inuk woman is calling for Canada to declare ongoing violence against Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people a national emergency.
“There is a genocide happening,” said Nikki Komaksiutiksak, the executive director of Tunngasugit, an Inuit resource centre based in Winnipeg.
The House of Commons recently adopted the motion on unanimous consent.
CBC News asked the federal government if it will declare a national emergency but did not receive a clear answer.
The motion, originally presented by NDP MP Leah Gazan of Winnipeg Centre, also calls on the government to create and fund a public alert system for missing Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people.
Like Amber Alerts for missing children, a Red Dress Alert would send emergency notifications to the public when an Indigenous woman, girl or two-spirit person goes missing.
