ZAIntroduced to celebrate @montresbreguet ‘s 250th anniversary, the Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2075 draws inspiration from the rare civilian Type XX models of the 1950s- particularly a gold reference produced in 1955. Those early chronographs were originally designed for aviation, combining high legibility, robust construction, and the flyback complication demanded by pilots. The modern 2075 faithfully revives those historic proportions with its 38 mm case and manual-wound architecture, while updating the concept through contemporary materials, finishing, and a newly developed high-frequency movement. Limited to 250 individually numbered pieces, the watch bridges Breguet’s pioneering role in aviation timekeeping with modern mechanical innovation, creating a chronograph that feels both historically authentic and unmistakably contemporary.
The Type XX Chronographe 2075 pairs Breguet’s aviation heritage with contemporary haute horlogerie engineering. Housed in a 38.3 mm case crafted from 18K Breguet gold, the watch features a hand-satinated 925 silver dial, blued hands, and a classic two-register chronograph layout. Inside beats the manual-winding calibre 7279, a high-frequency movement operating at 5 Hz (36,000 vph) with 258 components, 28 jewels, and a 60-hour power reserve. The movement incorporates a silicon balance spring for enhanced stability and precision, while the chronograph is equipped with a flyback function, allowing the timing sequence to be reset and restarted instantly with a single press- an essential tool for aviation timing.
