11Just last week, 118th Wing members joined up with the Tennessee Army National Guard members in their Frontline Leadership Course.
This was the first ever Frontline Leadership Course to have Airmen attending and they thrived, gaining recognition for their exceptional skills even in a joint environment.
This course, roughly a week long, centered around further developing leadership skills in fundamental military areas. Our existing TSgts and MSgts were trained in how to teach competencies like land navigation, marksmanship, combat lifesavers and 9 line medevac procedures.
Being one of these leaders means, not only making some of these hard last-second decisions but also thinking ahead, building a future force and training your replacement.
In the agile combat deployment model these leaders play a crucial role in optimizing outcomes amidst challenging circumstances. They are the direct role models for our forces of tomorrow.
Joint training, like this course, is integral to this preparation because all mission success, in the world of great power competition, will happen as a united front.
We're grateful for the opportunity to train alongside the TN National Guard and eagerly anticipate future collaborations to enhance readiness and joint development among our members.

USTrainees going through Basic Combat Training, #BCT, or One Station Unit Training, #OSUT, are exposed to Land Navigation during the "White" Phase of Basic Training. During this familiarization, Trainees learn how to plot coordinate points, shoot an azimuth, maintain a pace count, and identify terrain features.
Learning how to efficiently and effectively navigate the land is a foundational skill that USArmy Soldiers will be continuously assessed upon throughout their Professional Military Education (PME).

Fort Harrison, Mont. from 1-17 August. Training
includes day and night land navigation, less-than-lethal
riot control measures, law enforcement weapons
training and qualification, rappel operations, and
completing an obstacle course. As multi-capable
Soldiers, these Military Policemen are learning to make
critical decisions in extreme scenarios `to keep

RISoldiers from the Rhode Island National Guard build capacity with soldiers from Timor-Leste Defence Force (F-FDTL) as part of Dalan ba Dame 2024, a @u.s.armypacific exercise in Baucau, Timor-Leste. Soliders from Joint Force Headquarters, the Medical Detachment, and the Regional Training Institute served to teach, coach, and mentor F-FDTL soldiers in land navigation, tactical casualty combat care, basic rifle marksmanship, radio and reporting procedures, and tactical maneuver. The RIARNG evaluated F-FDTL company leadership in these tasks for senior local leaders to grow their force professionally.
