Dozens of volunteers including parents, staff, and CarMax employees gathered to build the playground in a single day, creating a space that students desperately needed.

Temporary barriers are to be installed on an Edinburgh street after drivers got their vehicles stuck on a set of steps multiple times due to sat-nav errors over the last few months. In days gone by motorists were able to turn left onto Greenside Lane when travelling up from Leith Walk. But the route has been blocked to traffic for quite some time now, with stairs and a new pavement and cycle lane lay-out constructed during work to extend the tram line in the Capital. Some motorists have claimed they made the manoeuvre after being instructed to do so by their navigation system. Edinburgh Council said Google has now corrected the error. The officers have written to Apple to ask the tech giant does the same. But in the meantime it’s been decided only a physical barrier will prevent further incidents. It’s always so exciting to see new openings in Edinburgh and Leith Walk has quite a few at the moment so let’s go and check them out together. In @hobzbakery former unit at the foot of the walk is @sloelanebakery, a lovely little spot with a great selection of different pastries and baked treats. I’ll need to go back for the cheese and pickle scones!! At the top (technically Elm Row if we’re being pedantic), @kulcoffee_ has taken over my Instagram feed of late so I was glad to see it totally lives up to the hype. Veeeery cool interiors and my matcha was great too! Meeting people as you get older never really gets easier. Somehow it feels like your first day of school all over again. But if the last couple days celebrating my friend’s hen do has reminded me of anything– being incredibly nervous and still showing up anyway is always worth it 🫶🏻 It’s funny, how these people are strangers to you, yet names you’ve heard in all her stories. People she already loves, already laughs with,and you step into that world and understand immediately why. My love language is food, so I made a plan to give myself a bit of familiarity and a task to put me at ease and that meant making little foodie bags for the girls, a small ice breaker, a quiet way of saying “hi, this is me.” which of course meant hotfooting it to a local bakery the second I got off the train from Inverness🚈 I try and visit @babyfacedbaker every time I’m in Edinburgh and have been for years now! The very talented babyfaced baker herself, Rhiain is a Highlander too so I love supporting her even more. La Querencia is a family-run Argentinian restaurant with deep South American roots, serving comforting, homemade food in a warm, homey setting. The staff are incredibly friendly, the prices are affordable, and the food is full of flavour. ✨ What we tried: 🥟 Empanadas
• Humita – sweetcorn & basil, creamy, comforting, and full of flavour
• Tucumana – traditional slow-cooked beef with warming spices 🥪 Sandwiches 
• Milanesa Sandwich – crispy breaded beef cutlet served in a soft roll with fresh salad
• Churrasquito Sandwich – tender sirloin steak with homemade chimichurri 🍰 Dessert (the star of the show): Rogel Torta 
Layers of thin, crisp pastry filled with silky dulce de leche and finished with a delicate meringue topping. Everything here feels authentic and made with love.
