Personality can be added in various ways depending on the type of personality you are trying to achieve. But you’ll be missing a beat if you have a wordmark that solely relies on the personality of a specific type, because ultimately this could lead to you looking like everybody else who uses that typeface.
But how do we make those subtle, or dramatic customisations that enable your design to ooze more personality. Go back to your brief and look into your goal. In this case; we aimed to create a design that ‘captured the essence of our monstrous-sized sandwiches’. So, I bought the idea of ‘monster-sized’ into the design by pulling in small cutouts that reassembled a monster bite/teeth. And the result - a custom word mark that oozed personality whilst maintaining it’s cleanliness and simplicity.
