RYThe dismissal that people with chronic conditions face (MCAS, histamine intolerance, brain fog, autoimmunity) is something I genuinely can’t stop thinking about.
Especially when biotoxins enter under the conversation (viruses, bacteria, mold, 🪱)
Because what’s happening in your body is real
It’s not just psychological or immunological and for a lot of people it starts when multiple systems in our physiology began to fail
If you’re suffering with these symptoms one critical aspect of this story is what’s happening in the terrain of the gut.
One of the most consistent things I noticed critically bifidobacteria - foundational microbes for immune function and histamine load
Here’s what they actually do:
✅ Produce short chain fatty acids (like butyrate) that protects your gut lining
✅ train your immune system toward tolerance instead of reactivity
✅ support support the regulatory calming side of your immune response
When those populations crater, the bacteria starts to break down. Immune signals get amplified and suddenly everything becomes a trigger: food, supplements, fragrances, stress, a slight temperature change, etc
🦠 viral reactivation can become part of the picture too not because you’re broken, but because your system has lost its ability to rebound effectively
✅ Comment “VIRAL” and I’ll send you my Substack with 2 deep dives on this subject & what to do
Here’s what doesn’t get talked about enough: the order you go in matters enormously
If you’re already running on depleted antioxidants, low glutathione, and inflamed mitochondria, going straight for “kill the pathogen” can make things significantly worse
A smarter sequence often looks like: stabilize → rebuild → regulate → THEN target
That usually means starting with mitochondrial and redox support (sleep, minerals, electrolytes, pacing, and carefully guided antioxidants)
Then rebuilding gut terrain: encouraging Bifidobacteria through specific strains, targeted prebiotics, and histamine-aware food choices
✅ With time & consideration massive strides can be made for the better
